Tarvisio is not only one of the most important ski resort in Friuli Venezia Giulia, but this town includes also the Tarvisio Forest, the Italian largest state forest. Located just before the border between Italy, Slovenia and Austria, Tarvisio represents a meeting point of different cultures and traditions: you’ll have the chance to taste different Friulian, Slovenian and Carinthian culinary specialties. Here you’ll find the Shrine of Madonna del Lussari, an important place of religious pilgrimage since the tradition tells that right there the Madonna appeared. Tarvisio offers different kind of experiences, such as that of walking with your four-legged friends along fairytale paths surrounded by the snow, thanks to the international school of Sleddog and Mushing on the Fusine Valley.

Between Tarvisio and the neighboring valleys, you’ll have 25 km of skiable area available, for a total of 24 ski slopes and around 30 km of cross-country trails. At your discretion, the tour includes the opportunity to take ski lessons for both adults and children. These mountains are perfect for trekking with snowshoes in the woods, in order to admire the beautiful surrounding valleys. To make your children happy, we planned a day at Nevelandia park, where the rent of little sleighs, bobsleighs and rubber sleighs is included in the price.

THE PREDIL MINE’S SECRETS

The lead and zinc mines of Predil were discovered already in Roman times and exploited until the early 1900s. Today is a touristic and educational area, in order to remember the worker labor and discover the anecdotes and the evidences of the hard work in the mines. The Mines overlook the Predil lake on whose surface the Julian Alps are reflected: a silent and enchanting landscape for an educational day surrounded by nature.
