Welcome to the North of Italy
Discovering the natural and amazing lake area

Your enchanting tour to discover the lakes of northern italy will begin with Mergozzo. Lake Mergozzo is an ideal destination for a few days away from the city traffic, nestled in a spectacular setting between the waters of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. Located a few kilometers from the largest and most famous Lake Maggiore, it is called for this reason “small lake”, where there are several “Blue Flag” beaches that attest to the quality of the waters (cleanest and most beautiful of the entire Italian Alpine arc) and the tourist offer.

Mergozzo has recently obtained the recognition of most beautiful village, by “Borghi d’Italia”, thanks to its great hospitality and the characteristic aspect of its historical center.

Lake d’Orta and San Giulio
Amazing landscape

Lago d’Orta (Lake Orta), is located between Valsesia and Lake Maggiore. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape, with its scattered old houses, Lago d’Orta is a peaceful resort, with the island of San Giulio being one of the favorite destinations for visitors. In contrast to the tourist hustle and bustle of the neighboring towns on the shores of Lake Maggiore, it is quiet here, except during the two annual flower festival events, which transform streets and squares into a veritable sea of flowers.

There will also be visits to the Gardens of Villa Taranto, one of the largest botanical gardens of Lake Maggiore,  and The Hermitage of Santa Caterina a place of great beauty where art and history, faith and spirituality meet.

Private tour
Discovering the Como lake area

A day will be dedicated to a guided walking and boat tour with a private guide English speaking to visit the lake and villages.

The cruise from Como to the centre of the lake is the best way to admire the villas, the hamlets and the stunning landscapes of the Lario.
After visiting Torno, which is one of the most charming villages of the lake, there will be a stop at the Ponte della Civera of Nesso. This is one of the not to be missed views of the lake, even by Alfred Hitchcok who included this stunning view in his first feature film : the roaming waterfall and the stone bridge really do portray the spirit of the lake.
The “ aperitivo” in Argegno, a lively and sparky village, will not only let our visitors enjoy the “ritual” of one of the most cherished habits of italians but also taste some local delicacies. Then the visit continues towards the centre of the lake. During the sailing there will be the chance to admire some of the most luxurious mansions of the lake, like Villa del Balbiano and Villa del Balbianello, or the suggestive Comacina Island. The lunch in Bellagio, the “pearl” of the Lario, with local specialties like the “risotto with perch” will be the highlight of the day ( not included). But there is still one last and unforgettable picture that will become cherished memory for all visitors : the walk in the ancient village of Varenna, a real gem of lake Como.
Your guide, with this tour, will give you an overview of the area that you can then explore at your own pace.
Another day you can go to Milan ( 50km for about 1h driving) and have a private tour of the city in abiut 3 hours.
The tour can be customized, some highlights, the Cathedral Duomo, The Castello Sforzesco, the Gallery Vittorio Emanuele and The Piazza della Scala.
