Greek temples and theaters but also Phoenician, Arabian and Byzantine monuments cohabitate with mosaics and Roman villas, Norman castles and cathedrals as well as entire baroque cities. AN AUTHENTIC STORY BETWEEN BAROQUE CATHEDRALS AND BYZANTINE CHARM

A plunge in the ancient times starting from Palermo, whose millennial history left us with a remarkable artistic and architectonic heritage: from the ruins of the Punic walls to the liberty style villas, from the baroque churches to the neoclassical theaters. Home of king and emirs, Palermo preserved monuments of the Arabian-Norman period, such as the beautiful Chiesa della Martorana, synonymous of prosperity and charm of the Byzantine Middle Age. In Palermo we can admire also the largest opera theatre of Italy, as well as one of the largest in Europe: Teatro Massimo. The astonishment will arouse while walking towards Monreale and seeing its imposing Arabian-Norman cathedral, the 8^th wonder of the world with its splendid cluster.

FROM THE IRRESISTIBLE ARCHITECTURE AND ARCHEOLOGY OF ERICE AND SEGESTA TO MOTHIA ISLAND

A PERFECT UNION OF ART AND NATURE

Segesta will leave you astonished and impressed with its evocative Tempio Solitario, a refined Doric style example, well-known for being well preserved, or with the Ancient theatre of Segesta, partly excavated into a hilly rock. You will admire Erice and its small medieval hamlets up on San Giuliano Mount, a perfect mix between art and nature, where the time seems to have never passed. You’ll be enchanted by the whiteness of the salt pans of Trapani, where the characteristic practice of the salt extraction is till flourishing as well explained at the Salt museum, built in an old millstone. Finally, you will enjoy the evocative view of the Mothia island, in the center of the Stagnone and of the salt pans extended along the coast between Trapani and Marsala.

After visiting the ruins of the ancient city of Akragas, surrounded by almond trees and defined like “the most beautiful city ever built by the mortals”, by Pindaro, you’ll discover other ancient treasures of this land, like the Temple of Juno, of Concordia and of Hercules. Lastly, Cefalù – a not to be missed splendid medieval marine village on a crystalline sea, embellished by a Norman cathedral.
