Tuscany & 5 Terre
The Cinque Terre is a stunning coastal region located in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy, renowned for its beautiful landscapes and colorful cliffside villages. Literally meaning “Five Lands,” this UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises five picturesque towns: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore: these charming villages are perched dramatically on steep cliffs overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.
Each town has its own unique character, with pastel-colored houses stacked precariously on rocky terrain, creating a postcard-perfect scene that attracts travelers from around the world. The villages are connected by a famous hiking trail that winds through terraced vineyards, olive groves, and spectacular coastal views. Traditional fishing boats bob in small harbors, while narrow streets and historic churches reflect the area’s rich maritime and agricultural heritage.
The local cuisine is a highlight, featuring fresh seafood, pesto (a Ligurian specialty), and local wines produced from grapes grown on the challenging terraced landscapes.
“Tuscany is not a place you see; it’s a place you feel.”
