Venice, art, bacari and chicheti

By boat you will reach the picturesque island of Burano, famous for its brightly colored fishermen’s houses. You will move between typical lace-making shops and informal restaurants specialized in preparing fish from the lagoon. From the bridge that connects Burano to the island of Mazzorbo, in the heart of the Venice Lagoon, you will explore the vineyard and the vegetable gardens of the Venissa estate. Here grows the Dorona, called “the golden grape” at the time of the Venetian doges, the autochthonous vine of Venice. The excursion will continue to Torcello, where you will visit its basilica, the oldest church in the lagoon: from the bell tower you will admire the lagoon landscape, made up of “velme”, ​​muddy grounds devoid of vegetation, and “barene”, plots covered with thick grassy tufts visible only at low tide.

The island of San Giorgio Maggiore and the island of Giudecca are those in which the great architect Palladio has left more traces: Venice is indeed a city rich in its pearls. In Palladian architecture poetry, art and history meet  generating masterpieces. You will ascend the Campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore where the view of the city, surrounded by the lagoon, will be impressive in its beauty and from which you will have the chance to shed light on the not simple geometric layout of Venetian streets.

You’ll walk among the narrow streets, the paths of the city, and between a curious Venetian anecdotes  you’ll discover the food and wine, art and crafts of the city. You’ll discover the bacaro ,the typical Venetian tavern, to taste the wines of the region accompanied by chicheti, traditional and delicious Venetian tastes prepared with vegetables, polenta, fish and cheeses. The somelier will guide you in defining the flavors, aromas and colors of white and red wines, as well as the art of combining them with the dishes.
