This tour will immerse you in the history and culinary traditions of Lazio, from the discovery of Ostia Antica to the majestic Colosseum, passing through castles, Roman gardens and finally the Island of Ponza.
A private driver will accompany you to the entrance of Ostia Antica where an experienced private guide will be waiting for you for a half-day tour. You will discover the Thermal Baths of Nettuno with white and black mosaics depicting Neptune and Amphitrite.
You will visit the ancient city of Ostia walking through the ruins of the old city where the guide will explain all the history and secrets, with a visit to the most significant places such as the theater, the forum, Diana’s house, the Thermopolium and the Forica.
A full-day tour will take you to the wonderful and magical Castello Orsini, where you can admire its collection of ceramics and medieval hortus (garden) that produces ancient plants and essential oils.
Inside the castle, you will admire the refined interiors with wooden ceilings, decorative friezes and heraldic symbols, which celebrate the aristocratic Orsini family.
Following visit of “Castello di Ruspoli in Vignanello” to enjoy a lunch in the cellar. Taste the wine produced by the Ruspoli family along with fresh and organic foods.
Ponza, famous for its crystal clear sea and beautiful cliffs, is also a land of legends: listen to them during the navigation. Visit the Grotto of the sorceress Circe, who, in Homer’s Odyssey, turned men into pigs. Discover the moving story of Lucia Rosa, symbol of human rights, who gave her name to one of the most beautiful bathing areas in Ponza.
At lunchtime, the crew will serve the pasta alla marinara, a simple but delicious meal prepared in the boat’s kitchen.
You will have free time for some shopping in Ponza, exploring the narrow streets of the harbor area.
With a private guide, you will visit the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill where you will discover the history of Ancient Rome while visiting the most important and representetive monuments.
You will admire the interior of the majestic Colosseum and retrace the footsteps of the crowds on the 2 rings.
