SICILY BETWEEN WINE, ART AND NATURE

We will pass through the Island looking for the most exclusive wines while meeting directly with the wine makers. We will explore the best wineries in order to discover their secrets and culture. From Grecanico to Nero d’Avola, from Moscato to Frappato, ending with the reds and whites of Etna, we will taste the nectar of the best Sicilian grapes, in the name of Bacchus.

You can’t say Sicilia, without saying food. Excellent food. Sicilian culinary tradition includes an infinite number of specialties, starting from fish and meat courses, ending with desserts and typical pastries. Acknowledged as one of the region with the richest culinary culture even by Italian people, Sicily will offer you the opportunity to try always new and different tastes, stage by stage. You will have the chance to taste the brioche with granita, “busati con l’agghia pistata” (pasta with pesto alla trapanese), almond pastries and cannoli filled with ricotta. Not to forget arancini and thousands of other specialties.

Every Sicilian corner has its stories to tell. The island, classic pearl of Magna Graecia as well as of the Roman empire, was the headquarter of the Emperor Frederick II who made this land the European capital of art and culture, gathering the greatest artists and architects from the entire continent. You will experience the sunset descending on the Valle dei templi in Agrigento, you’ll get lost inside the beautiful medieval hamlet of Taormina, and then surrounded by the enchanting baroque style of the center of Syracuse, UNESCO world heritage.

We will experience moments of relaxation and fun, abandoning ourselves to the sun and to the sound of the sea, in the most renowned sea villages of the Sicilian southeast. We’ll explore the fisherman’s villages, like Marzamemi and Portopalo that live in their own atmosphere far from space and time. We’ll dive right into the crystalline waters of the Vendicari marine reserve and of the Isole delle Correnti. Oasis of peace and beauty, Sicilia is also synonymous of excitement.

We’ll reach the summit of the Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe (3350mt), and up to the Monti Silvestri, inactive volcanic cones dating back to the end of the 1800s. From up here, we will enjoy the most incredible landscape, with the Aeolian Islands, home of Aeolus, on one side and the Strait of Messina, nest of the mythical monsters Scilla and Cariddi, on the other side. You won’t experience the true Sicilian soul until you plunge into the corners of its unspoiled and wild nature.
